Notes regarding APLINK Version 7.00 and Version 7.01
1. This version deletes the event log and the NTS message
counting facility and replaces those functions with a new
message log and summary report program.
The new message log writes a file with the name MSGLOGnn.APS
where nn is a two digit number representing the month (01
through 12) in which it is written. A seperate program named
SUMMARY.EXE reads a message log file and provides a summary of
traffic activity. SUMMARY.EXE may be run at any time even while
APLINK is running to show the totals for the current month or
any previous month. SUMMARY.EXE does not write to any files.
2. The whole update process has been removed from APLINK code
and made into a seperate stand alone program named UPDATE.EXE.
At update time APLINK closes down and calls UPDATE.EXE which
performs the update functions and then calls UPDATE.BAT if it is
installed and then restarts APLINK.
UPDATE.EXE may be called directly from the DOS command line IF
APLINK IS NOT RUNNING.
3. Version 7.00 eliminates the ASCII command from the AMTOR
channel. The full printing ascii set is transmitted if
LOWERCASE=1 is set in APLINK.CNF. The default for LOWERCASE is
set to 1.
4. A driver for the ICS AMT-3 AMTOR controller has been added.
5. Version 7.01 add the error threshold parameter for the
PCI-3000. Set ERRTHLD=n where n is 0 thru 5. See PCI-3000
doumentation for details.
6. In Version 7.01 a new command has been added to the AMTOR
channel. A user marked MBO in the user file may execute the
'LP' command which lists all pending traffic.
7. The AMTOR channel CANCEL command has been modified so the
sysop, if logged in under the station's own call, may cancel any
message in the system.
